Dr. Jennifer Moss has been sitting with people and watching their spark come forward since the early 1990s.
She trained at UC Berkeley, where psychology and Buddhist psychology were not separate departments but parts of the same inquiry. She holds a doctorate in psychology. She also meditates, thinks about consciousness, finds quantum physics genuinely exciting, and was raised by a deeply agnostic family that accidentally taught her to find God on her own.
Jennifer’s Philosophy: Honoring the Soul in Psychological Science
Jennifer bridges clinical grounding with spiritual wisdom, often discussing the science and the sacred in the same conversation. She talks about the soul, the cosmic self, and energy as readily as she talks about attachment, parts therapy, and the nervous system, because in her experience, they were never separate.
Working With Dr. Moss
Jennifer tailors your sessions using more than just a single therapy model. She has studied too many of them to be loyal to just one. What she uses is whatever is actually working in any given session: a mindfulness practice, an IFS technique, an attachment-based observation, or simply naming something you have never heard named before.
She tracks the body as much as the conversation. When you are constricting, she notices. When something opens, she takes you there. The session follows your wave.
"I'm not here to help people become different than who they are. I'm here to help people clear out the stuff and be themselves." -Dr. Jennifer Moss
More About What Jennifer Believes
You are not broken. You are molded. Generations of people, experiences, defenses, and protections have made you the person who is sitting in that chair. Some of what shaped you is working beautifully. Some of it has outlived its purpose.
Her job is to help you see which is which.
She does not define who you are. Only you can do that. Her job is to help you clear what is in the way so you can find out.
Who Is Jennifer Outside Of Her Work?
Dr. Moss is a twin. She has been reading other people since the womb, and she will tell you that’s why she is good at her job. She loves her cats. She watches television without apology. She finds consciousness research legitimately thrilling and will talk about it if you let her. She has been in her own therapy since she was 18 and believes that matters.
If this sounds like the kind of therapist you’d like to work with
